Nutrition plays an essential role in the growth, health and wellbeing of our dogs.

At Stars Labradoodles, we do not follow feeding trends or believe that there is one single feeding method that suits every dog. Our priority is to provide our dogs and puppies with a diet that is complete, balanced and appropriate for their age, growth stage and individual needs.

Because the nutritional needs of a growing puppy are very different from those of an adult dog, their diet also evolves throughout the different stages of their lives.

Our Main Diet : Royal Canin

We have chosen Royal Canin as the main diet for our dogs and puppies.

During puppyhood, the body goes through an extraordinary period of development, including the growth of the skeleton and the development of the immune system, digestive system and brain. A puppy therefore has very different nutritional requirements from those of an adult dog.

Royal Canin offers formulas designed according to a dog's age, growth stage and expected adult size. Its Medium Puppy formula, for example, is designed to meet the energy requirements of growing medium-sized puppies and includes highly digestible proteins, prebiotics and DHA.

This precise approach to nutrition throughout the different stages of a dog's life fits particularly well with our philosophy at Stars Labradoodles.

Nutrition from the Very Beginning

The transition from mother's milk to solid food is an important stage in a puppy's development.

Our puppies are gradually introduced to food appropriate for their age and development, allowing the weaning process to take place gently and progressively.

Royal Canin's Starter Mother & Babydog range is specifically designed to support mothers and puppies during late pregnancy, lactation and weaning, before puppies transition to a Puppy formula appropriate for their expected adult size.

And Because We Also Love Fresh Food: Elmut

Alongside Royal Canin, we also use Elmut, a fresh food option prepared specifically for dogs.

We particularly appreciate being able to introduce fresh, appetising food into our dogs' diets alongside their regular meals.

Elmut offers several recipes based on different animal protein sources, including chicken, beef, turkey and pork.

Depending on each dog's age, individual needs and lifestyle, fresh food can therefore also have a place in their feeding routine.

Every Dog Is Different

Even within the same breed, no two dogs have exactly the same nutritional needs.

Age, weight, activity level, growth, digestion, neuter status and overall health can all influence both the type and amount of food a dog requires.

We therefore regularly monitor our dogs' weight, body condition, digestion, coat quality and overall development, adjusting their diet whenever necessary.

Whenever a dog has specific nutritional or health requirements, our veterinarian naturally remains our first point of reference.

When Your Puppy Joins Your Family

Moving to a new home already brings many changes for a young puppy.

To avoid adding a sudden dietary change during this important adjustment period, every family receives detailed information about the food their puppy has been eating at Stars Labradoodles, the appropriate quantities and their usual feeding schedule.

We recommend continuing with the same diet during the first few days after your puppy arrives home.

If you later decide to change your puppy's food, we recommend making the transition gradually, giving their digestive system time to adjust.
